Reserve service buyback calculator

This web application allows Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members the ability to calculate an estimate of the cost of buying back their Reserve service and/or topping up their pension contributions from the Part I.1 plan to the Part I plan.

The calculation executed by this program is based solely on the information you have provided. Please be advised that this Web application is based on hypothetical data and is for information only. The estimate of your buyback calculation may not be accurate, as it is not based on actual data. At the time of your actual buyback and upon your release, all applicable data will be verified and audited. The verified information will be used to determine your actual pension entitlement.

Personal information collection statement

Provision of the personal information (PI) is voluntary and pursuant to the Department of Public Works and Government Services Act, paragraph 7(1)(d), section 13 and paragraph 16(b) and Privacy Act subsections 5(1)(2)(3) - Notification and Consent and Section 7 & 8 without notification and Consent.

Your PI will only be used for the administration of pension. The PI is described in Personal Information Bank (PIB) PWGSC PCU 702 - Federal Pension Administration. Your PI is protected, used, and disclosed in accordance with the Privacy Act. Under the Act, you have the right to access and correct your PI, if erroneous or incomplete.

The transmission of this information is not secure so sensitive personal information, should not be provided.

Shared technology

If you are using a shared computer or working from a public place such as a library, you should ensure that you shut down the browser once you have completed your session so that the cookie which contained your basic personal data will be disabled and will not be accessible to other individuals who will subsequently use the same computer.

You must also be cautious about saving any personal information on the hard drive, which could also become accessible to other individuals. It is recommended that you save your data to a personal storage device as you are solely responsible for its safety.

Another word of caution is to ensure to also delete any outstanding print jobs when you conclude your session so that none of your personal information can subsequently be printed and be made available to other persons.
